Superfluous body and facial hair can be a problem for many men and women. Electrolysis involves the insertion of a fine probe into the hair follicle to the hair root. A mild current is then passed down the needle tip to cauterise the hair root, enabling the hair to be withdrawn. This only takes a few seconds.
The areas suitable for treatment are:
- Facial Areas (Including upper lip, chin and sides)
- Neck
- Hairline
- Eyebrows
- Arms (Upper and Lower)
- Underarms
- Breasts (Between them, and around the nipples)
- Legs (Upper and Lower)
- Bikini Line
- Abdomen
- Back and Shoulders
- Fingers and Toes
The treatment is not generally painful, although some people may experience a degree of discomfort. Occasionally there is a feeling of heat and a slight redness in the area for a short while. Specially formulated soothing lotions are advisable for use after treatment.
The length of the treatment is different for everyone and for this reason it is essential to discuss this during the consultation. Many people believe that the hair will not grow back after one treatment, but this is incorrect, as the results of the treatment are progressive. This means that after each treatment the hair grows back finer and finer, taking longer to return, until eventually it will not grow back at all.
If the hairs have previously been removed via a temporary method such as plucking the growth will be much stronger. This is because the follicles will have been stimulated and therefore more electrolysis will be required.
The length of treatment time can be estimated from the size of the area that requires treatment, and also the maturity of the hair growth. However, the hair re-growth will be monitored throughout the treatment and the programme adjusted accordingly.
Virtually pain-free
Most people find Pain-Free, Hair-Free treatments very comfortable. While pain tolerance is subjective, many patients often describe the sensation as soothing as a "hot stone massage."How it works
Pain-Free, Hair-Free works by using pulses of infrared diode laser energy to gradually heat the hair follicles in the sub-dermal layer of skin until they can no longer produce new hair. Using unique, IN-Motion™ technology and a patented DualChill™ treatment tip, the surface of your skin stays cool and comfortable. The sweeping motion also eliminates any skipped or missed spots common to other types of laser hair removal.| Treatment | Advantages | Disadvantages |
