Are all IPL laser machines the same?

IPL is a generic name and the quality of the machine does determine the effectiveness of the treatment. There are different types and quality of machines designed for different markets. For example, the non-medical (beauty salons, aesthetic salons) rarely use the medical grade machines because these machines are designed for use by a medical practioner. Hence an IPL machine designed for the non medial market will most probably be less effective than a medical grade IPL machine which must be used by medical professionals and the premise must be approved by the Health Care Standards.

Will any IPL machine give the similar results?

No. The quality of the machine and the training of the clinician are directly related to the results achieved. One should not just compare prices of the treatment, it is important that you receive treatment from a medial facility with High Grade Medical IPL equipment.

What is it?

Dark or light complexioned, we all have varying amounts of melanin. Melanin is what gives your skin its colour. Pigmented lesions are dark in colour simply because melanin is abnormally concentrated in one area of the skin. High concentrations of melanin can be due to various factors such as age or overexposure to the sun's damaging rays.

How can it be treated?

Pigmented lesions can be successfully lightened or removed with our high specification IPL laser. Intense Pulse Light removes pigmented lesions with the energy of light. Each pulse is designed to produce one or more specific light wavelengths which are absorbed by the abnormal concentrations of melanin. The rapid absorption of light energy causes the melanin to breakdown thus reducing concentration of melanin, leaving the treated skin looking uniform in colour and texture.

How many treatments shall I require?

After treatments you will see a reduction of pigmentation, skin is revitalised and smoother. The number of treatments required depends upon the extent of the sun damage. .One can expect to see a difference after the first treatment but two to three treatments would be required for optimal results.
