Keloid ‘raised scars’

These are firm erythematous skin coloured papulonodules that form in response to trauma resulting from surgery, injury, insect bites, acne and ear piercing. There are also cases of spontaneous keloids that may occur in susceptible people.

After successful surgery for these conditions patients normally feel better about themselves.
