This is a rash of unknown cause which usually appears on the trunk as a large scaly rash followed in a few days by similar scaly rashes all over the trunk almost in a christmas tree appearance. Usually it is not itchy but looks terrible and may be mistaken for ringworm or psoriasis. The rash can last from 6-12 weeks and usually disappears the same way it came. The cause is not known and it is not contagious.
