
Urticaria is a condition in which there is a sudden onset of red itchy bumps or wheals on the skin. These usually occur, last for a few hours and then go away. There are many things which may cause this ie foods, medicines, insect stings, rubber, plants to mention a few. The most common foods implicated are eggs, nuts, milk, tomato, strawberries, fish, kiwi fruit. Other things like exercise, cold, pressure, heat, contact with hairy animals and other external stimuli can cause urticaria.
